Korean Cosmetics in Asia (Part 2)

Posted by & filed under Kontributor, Korean Cosmetics.

We’re back for the 2nd part of our K-beauty special feature on the popular Korean cosmetic brands in Asia (particularly Seoutheast Asia)! Hope you guys liked the first part and if you haven’t read it yet, check it out! Anyway, let’s move on to the 2nd half, shall we? [click to enlarge photos]

8. Purederm 퓨어덤

Korean-cosmetics-Asia

But their model doesn’t look so Korean… Hmmm…

Purederm is another brand being sold in our local department stores. Their tag line, “Seoul Salon in Your Sala” best represents what they are selling – Face & Body Care products! Their nose pore strips are really effective!

9. Skin Food 스킨푸드

Next up, Skin Food! It’s a really expensive brand that shouldn’t be so. The prices of the products sold in stores are doubled compared to those that are sold online though their theme and philosophy are nice too. Food for the skin!

If Etude likes pink, Skin Food loooves yellow.

The interior has a nice ambiance! And I love the prints on their packaging. I just can’t buy from the stores cause it’s expensive.

10. Sunwoo Cosmetics 선우코스메

Korean-cosmetics-Asia-03

Those BB Cream boxes have 초신성’s faces on them!

Our very own C.N.A. also brought a new player here. Sunwoo BB Creams are said to be quite popular among Japanese & Chinese tourists and are being endorsed by Supernova!

11.The Face Shop 더페이스샵

With “nature” as concept, THEFACESHOP is one of the earlier brands that were introduced to other Asian countries and they are proving that they have the charisma and staying power to wow customers all over the world.

Check out the standees and the posters!

I love how the brand has quality products that will surely make your skin more beautiful. I was introduced to this brand four years ago by my batch mate cause she loves their nail polishes! I had a little nail polish collection because of them, too. Brand endorsers include 김현중 Kim Hyun Joong & 김보름 Kim Bo Reum! Plus the Philippines’ Top Girl Ms. Monalyn Luna!

The interior is really really nice and feels classy and sophisticated! I have to say that they hired the best lighting designer! The price range is average and they are now aiming for lower prices (Club20) so that their products could suit the younger market (those who are still dependent on allowance).

12. The Skin Shop 더스킨샵

They’re most known for their BB Creams and Snail Creams.

Another new player is The Skin Shop, dubbed as the “Natural Beauty Magician”. They are most known for their BB Creams that were endorsed by JQT!~ Oh, 2AM is currently their brand ambassador! Cool!!~ Aside from BB Creams, they also have face skincare products! ^^

13. Tony Moly 토니모리

Last but certainly not the least, we have TONY MOLY tony tony moly (Roly Poly tune~ hehehe) They are stylish and sleek with a dash of cuteness! Tony Moly is one of my most beloved brands because they have this irresistible charm! The products are uniquely packed and are so cute to bring along.

Korean-cosmetics-Asia-07

They have very cute packaging!

Check out their gloss and mist in a bunny container, hand cream inside a peach container, lip balm inside a blueberry, cat mascara and mask inside a tomato! Raising their popularity with the help of popular girl group T-ARA and 송중기 Soong Jong Ki! The price range is somehow similar with Etude House.

So that’s a wrap! I hope this will help you check out the brands and do let us know what you think of them~ Did I miss any brand from your country? Share it with us, too!

Hera does have whitening range and products for different skin types. Must be some products that work well in tropical weather. Amore Pacific actually has a brand called “Amore Pacific” targeted for more high end retail channels. I think they had an ad featuring Sienna Miller (hope I got the actress’ name right..not a TV person here).

Hi! Thanks for the part 2, definitely enjoy part 1 and so as this one. By the way, I was talking to a Tony Moly’s saleslady the other day and she said that, Tony Moly and Etude House are sister company and that price range and quality aren’t too far from one another. But which of the two you recommend the most? And can you give us your top 3 brands of BB creams that you loved and used the most? [I just need some advice of what is a good Korean product out there since it works for my skin best] :)

Hi! Visited your site through Google because I’ve been researching about Korean Beauty products. A Korean store I went to last weekend was selling “Charmzone” and I’ve never heard of it until then. The seller(doesn’t speak English fluently) said that it’s a good brand but I didn’t buy it because I wanted to know more about it. I searched on youtube but only saw 2 videos about some of their products. I hope you can help me on this. I think they only sell Charmzone and Missha in that store. I’ve read from others that Missha made their skin broke out. I wanted to try Charmzone because I’d rather buy from a store than order online (I don’t like paying for shipping :) I wanted to know the reliability and reputation of this brand in Korea. I live outside the Philippines. Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks!!!
